Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve

2019 | SPRING

* Easy Peasy

Dig on hiking, birds, water and other pretties in nature? Then the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is where you should plan your next hike. Along with the general pleasure of taking a walk amongst nature, the birds of Bolsa also put on quite a show.

Roughly 1,300 acres of coastal beauty, this happy habitat has open water, mudflats, salt marsh, coastal dunes, seabird nesting islands, riparian and 200+ avian species. More than 4 miles of public hiking trails and scenic overlooks make this spot popular with photographers too.

Pro tip: With all of this wildlife, it is probably best to keep your dogs at home.

If birding is your thing, take a look at all the feathered friends that call this spot home.
